Amber necklace

Siin on üks tellimustöö, mida pole näidanud. Alguse sai see kliendi merevaigutükkidest. Ma pole eriti merevaigufänn ja selle toon minu kogemuse järgi ei sobi iga inimese jumega. Nii oli mu eesmärk värvitooni pisut lahjendada ilma, et tekiks kontrast. Juurde sai lisatud punast ahhaati (mikrolihviga), erinevaid värvitud mageveepärleid, naturaalset pleegitamata pärlmutrit, punast jaspist ja "ookeani" jaspist, beeže Miyuki seemnehelmeid ning muidugi palju-palju Tai hõbehelmeid (vähemalt 980 prooviga). Kaelakee on pisut ebasümmeetriline. Värvitoonid on kõige õigemad esimesel pildil.

This is a custom made piece I made a while back. It all started with clients amber beads. I'm not particularly a fan of amber and I've noticed that it doesn't always compliment the clients skin type. So I needed to soften it without creating a contrast. I added microfaceted red agate, different dyed freshwater pearls, natural undyed mother of pearl, red jasper and ocean jasper, beige Miyuki seedbeads and ofcourse a lot of Thai silver beads. The necklace came out a bit assymetrical. I managed to capture the right colors only on the first photo.

Baroque Pearls

Tore on saada postkontorist pakke :) Seekord sain pakiga vanu Jaapani tilgakujulisi klaaspärleid. Neil on tekstuurne pind ja seetõttu lisatakse nende nimele tihti sõna baroque. Selle kaelakee tegin kiiruga, et saaks aga kaela riputada. Aga naljakas on selle kee juures, et pärlitilga "kübar" on tehtud metallhelmest ja kaelakees olevad metallhelmed on tehtud pärlikübaratest ja vahehelmestest.

I love getting packages from the mail :) This time I received vintage Japanese dropshape glass pearls. They hae textured surface, so they're often called as baroque. I made this necklace in a hurry, I just wanted to wear it. But the funny thing about this necklace is that the bead cap on the pearldrop is made from a metal bead, and metal beads in this necklace are made from beadcaps and spacer beads.

Sain kokku Terje ja Lucy'ga. Lihtsalt selleks, et pole ammu näinud. Kahju, et Jana ei saanud seekord tulla. Andsin Terjele üle tema uue prossi ja lappasime selle aasta kevade ja suve Beads Bee ajakirju. Terje küsis: "Mis sul kaelas on?" Ütlesin siis, et kaelakee noh, "Võta ära" öeldi seepeale :) Mis ehted keegi endale külge riputanud oli, tuli teistele uurimiseks anda. Ikka suur erinevus kui näed ehet oma käes oma silmaga, mitte arvutiekraanilt. Tegin telefoniga mõned pildid mälestuseks (Apollo Raamatumaja kohvikus Viru tn 23; kohvikus C'est La Vie Suur-Karja 5; antiigipoes Väike-Karja 5 ja Müürivahe 17 nurgal).
Ahjaa, kuna minu kribukirjas appikutset selles postituses oli kuulda võetud, siis ostsin ära tolle kalli ehtekarbikese, mis mulle tookord nii hinge jäi. See on vana, katkise voodri, kriimuliste klaaspaneelidega suveniir-ehtekarbike, mille kaas on viltu peal :) Ja ma tõesti ei kahetse. Müüja ütles, et karp on 30-40ndatest, aga ma tunnen, et see on nagu vana tuttav. Et see on minu.

I met Terje and Lucy. Just because we havent seen for awhile. So sad that Jana couldn't come this time. I gave Terje her new brooch and we looked through the Beads Bee this years spring and summer magazines. Terje asked me: "What is that around your neck?" Well, I answered, it's a necklace, "Take it off" she said :) We all took off our jewelry pieces and let others to see it more closely. It makes a huge difference to be able to see jewelry in your hand other than from a computer screen. I made some photos with my phone (cafe at bookstore Apollo Viru street 23; cafe C'est La Vie Suur-Karja 5; antique shop at the corner of Väike-Karja 5 and Müürivahe 17).
And yes, my call in tiny font in this post was taken notice, and I was able to buy that expensive jewelry box that I haven't been able to forget ever since I saw it. It is an old trinket box with broken silk lining, damaged glass panels and a lid that is bit skewed. The woman who sold it said it's from the 30-40's but I feel like it is an old friend of mine. That it really is mine.

Green August

Ongi juba aeg niikaugel, et panna kokku järjekordne galerii vanadest ehetest. Seekordne värv - roheline - sai valitud eelmise augustikuu värvi järgi :) Aeg talletada rohelust ja teha viimane paljajalu murul kõndimine, kui seda pole veel tehtud.

And it's time for another color of the month post. I picked green color for August because it was the same on the first year :) Time to make the last bare-foot walk on grass and gather positive emotions from the green.
