MULTICOLOR EARRINGS in Vintage Style

Whant to know what I made out of the materials I showed you previously? These multicolor rhinestone earrings in vintage style combine an array of vintage and new materials. Vintage deep purple glass drops from Japan, green "English cut" beads and vintage yellow moonstone glass leaves from Czechoslovakia, new crystal glass rhinestones in pink and blue from Austria (Swarovski), vintage glass pearls from France and antique cut steel micro beads. All stitched together to new filigree plates with wire.

Jewellery Challenge: Bridal Hair Comb in Silver Finish

Here's the result of the jewellery challenge. A bridal hair comb in silver finish. I used vintage glass pearls, tiny seed beads and Swarovski rhinestones.

Siin on väljakutse tulemus. Pruudi juuksekamm hõbedase viimistlusega. Kasutasin vintage klaaspärleid, väikeseid seemnehelmeid ning Swarovski kristalle.

Amber necklace

Siin on üks tellimustöö, mida pole näidanud. Alguse sai see kliendi merevaigutükkidest. Ma pole eriti merevaigufänn ja selle toon minu kogemuse järgi ei sobi iga inimese jumega. Nii oli mu eesmärk värvitooni pisut lahjendada ilma, et tekiks kontrast. Juurde sai lisatud punast ahhaati (mikrolihviga), erinevaid värvitud mageveepärleid, naturaalset pleegitamata pärlmutrit, punast jaspist ja "ookeani" jaspist, beeže Miyuki seemnehelmeid ning muidugi palju-palju Tai hõbehelmeid (vähemalt 980 prooviga). Kaelakee on pisut ebasümmeetriline. Värvitoonid on kõige õigemad esimesel pildil.

This is a custom made piece I made a while back. It all started with clients amber beads. I'm not particularly a fan of amber and I've noticed that it doesn't always compliment the clients skin type. So I needed to soften it without creating a contrast. I added microfaceted red agate, different dyed freshwater pearls, natural undyed mother of pearl, red jasper and ocean jasper, beige Miyuki seedbeads and ofcourse a lot of Thai silver beads. The necklace came out a bit assymetrical. I managed to capture the right colors only on the first photo.

Blue Chalcedony Necklace

Just sain valmis ühe kaelakee, nii mõnus tunne :) See kaelakee on tehtud 925 hõbedast, kiviks on kaltsedon, helmed pärlmutrist, kaltsedonist, looduslikust kristallist ja hõbedast. Pikkust on sellel keel 54,5cm, ripats kõige laiemast kohast 3,3cm ning pikkus 5cm (mõõtsin koos alumiste rippuvate helmestega). See kaelakee mõlkus mõtetes mõned nädalad juba, võtsin selle kaltsedonist kumerlihviga kivi ja muudkui mõtlesid :) Probleem seisnes selle hõbedast pesa sidumine traadiga, kuna sellel polnud auke. Idee oli, aga ma ei teadnud, kas see töötab. Ja nüüd, kujutage ette, ma isegi joonistasin väikese plaani! Olen alati mõelnud, et see eelnev ehte planeerimine on äge ja väga professionaalne värk. Kahjuks juhtub minu puhul seda haruharva. Aga see kaelakee tegi mu väga rõõmsaks :) Naljakas kas pole?

I just made a necklace, it feels good :) I made it from 925 silver, the cabochon is from chalcedony, beads are from MOP, chalcedony, natural crystal and silver. It is 54,5cm in lenght, the pendant is 3,3cm at the widest point and 5cm long (I measured with the dangles at the bottom). I thought about this necklace for weeks, I often took it out and wondered what I could do with it :) The problem was how to attach the setting to the wirewrapped frame because it didn't have any holes (wasn't sew-on). I had one idea but I didn't know if it would work. And this time I draw a plan can you imagine that! I have always thought that previous planning and drawing is cool and very professional like. It happens really rarely to me, though. But this necklace made me really happy :) Isn't it funny? :)

Little bit of this and that...

Mõned vahepealsed tööd, mille pildistamisega olen viivitanud. Esimene on käekett goldstone'i ja roheliste klaaskvartsist tilkadega. Lilled tegin 2mm suurustest helmestest ja südamikuks on hele kassisilm. Teine on kaelakee indicolite swarovski kiviga. Kolmas jälle käekett, klaaskvartsist tilkadest moodustasin lillekesed ja südameks panin väikese peridot värvi swarovski. Veel on seal violet opal swarovski helmed. Viimastel piltidel on kingitus mu vennale - kaelakee laava kivi, merekarbist rattaste (täpset nime ei oska anda) ning hõbedaga.

Some of my works that had waited for photographing and uploading. First one is a bracelet with brown goldstone and green quartz glass teardrops. I made these little flowers with 2mm beads of goldstone and light cateye. Second one is a necklace with indicolite swarovski stone. Third one also a bracelet with pineapple quartz and violet opal swarovski beads. I made the flowers with teardrops and with a tiny peridot colored swarovski sew-on. On the last photos there is a gift for my brother - a necklace with lava stone, hammershell heishi and silver.

Huge Mountain Crystal

Ma ostsin selle tohutu suure mägikristallist helme LaGeode'st. See on 25x17mm suur! Tegelikult olin ma selle juba ära unustanud. Eile hakkasin ma seda kaelakeeks tegema ning sain ebameeldiva üllatuse osaliseks. Nimelt on selle helme tunnel järsu jõnksuga, mistõttu 0,8mm ehtenõel sealt läbi ei läinudki. Õnneks 0,6mm läks, kuna andis painduma. Kee on iseenesest väga lihtne. Hõbedast kett on jälle Luxoniast ja ehtenõel minu enda tehtud :)

I bought this huge mountain crystal from La Geode. It measures 25x17mm! To be ohnest I frogot all about it, until I found it yesterday from my stash. I started to make a necklace out of it and had an unpleasant surprise. The tunnel of this bead was not strait so 0,8mm pin didn't go through it. Fortunately 0,6mm went because it had room to bend and I could finish this necklace. It is really simple piece of jewellery. The silver chain is again from Luxonia and the headpin I made by myself :)

Flowers in New Jade

New jade on tegelikult serpentiin, ilus piimja roheka tooniga kivi. Küll ma kahtlesin nende lillekujuliste helmeste hankimisel (kartsin, et jäävad kasutult seisma), aga samas tahtsin neid nii väga :) Need lilled on 25mm pikad ning masinal nikerdatud mustriga. See kivi sobib suurepäraselt hõbedaga ja nii sättisingi siia keesse hõbeketti Luxoniast ning Karen Hill Tribe hõbedast pärlikübaraid ja leheripatseid. Kaelakee on 46cm pikk ja lilled lisavad juurde veel 4,5cm.

New jade is actually serpentin, a beautiful milky green stone. I was in between when deciding if to buy these or not. I was afraid I have no ideas to use them with. But then again I wanted those beads so bad :) These flower beads are 25mm long and carved with machine. This stone goes so well with silver so I added some silver chain from Luxonia and Karen Hill Tribe bead caps and leaf pendants. This necklace is 46cm long and flower cluster adds 4,5cm to it.

Silver & Iolite

Möödunud nädalavahetusel käisin zip'il külas. Oi... ja ma jäin hiljaks ja õudsalt pabistasin. Pabistasin, et kõik on kindlasti juba kohal ja hõbeda jootmine alanud! Ainuke, keda kutsututest tundsin, oli Lucy, temaga saime kokku zipi kodu lähedal. Ja siis, kui kohale jõudsime, tuli välja, et me Lucyga ainukesed :) Oi kui põnev oli! Me saime lähemalt uudistada leeklampi ning nupuga ehtenõelu teha. Hõbe ja vasktraadist. Zip jagas lahkesti oma teadmisi ning näitas kuidas leeklampi käsitseda ja kuidas täita. Ning siis näitas ta pastaga jootmist.

Ma mõtlen ikka ja jälle, kui tore oli... Koju jõudes tegin kahe ISE tehtud nupuga ehtenõelaga kõrvarõngad. Hõbe ja ioliit. Edit: uued pildid.

Last weekend I visited zip. Oh... and I was late and so nervous. I was nervous, because I thought everybody is already together and started with silver soldering! Only one I knew from the invited was Lucy and we met near zip's home. And then we saw that we were the only ones there :) Oh, it was exciting! We could check out the blowtorch and make ballpins with it. From silver and copper wire. Zip kindly shared her knowledge about working with blowtorch and how to fill it. And then she showed us how to solder with a solder paste.

I still think how great this event was... When I got home I made a pair of earrings from the ballpins I made MYself. Silver and iolite. Edit: new photos.

Silver Heart with Turquoise&Chrystal

Kingitus emale sünnipäevaks. Selle hõbedast filigraan medaljoni tellisingi just selleks eesmärgiks. On selline pisut vallatu :) sedasi viltu. Väga raske oli seda keed teha... Milline tegumood valida... Millised helmed valida... Eks ma olen teda liialt ära hellitanud ehetega :) Lõpuks osutus kombinatsioon türkiisist, mageveepärlitest, kristallist ja hõbedast kõige paremaks. Siia läks täpselt kogu mu väikeste hõbedast daisy-vahehelmeste varu. Kee valmistasin kiirustades ema sünnipäeval lõuna paiku. Ma oleks täielikult hädas olnud, kui mul poleks olnud helmetööde alust! See muutis kaelakee disainimise lihtsamaks, kuna helmeid asetasin ringi rohkem kui üks kord, et leida kõige paremat variant. Emale meeldis tulemus :P

I bought this heart shaped silver filligree medallion to make a birthday gift for my mother. It's a bit frisky don't you think :) hanging tilted. This necklace was really hard for me to make... What style should I choose... What kind of beads... I'm afraid I've pampered her with way too much of jewellery all the time :) In the end I was convinced that combination of turquoise, chrystal, freshwater pearls and silver was the best way to go. All my daisy-spacers found a place here. I made this necklace in a hurry at midday of my mothers birthday. I would have been complitely lost if I wouldn't have had my beading board! It helped alot while disaining the necklace because I rearranged the beads more than once to find the best look. She liked the outcome :P

Silver and Iolite Dragonfly

Sellised tillukesed hõbedast Hill Tribe tiivad on mul olnud pea aasta. Ootasid oma õiget hetke. Idee teha kiili sain soomlaste Helmetti foorumist. Kiili pea on lihvitud ioliidi rattakesest, saba aga hõbehelmestest. Kõik helmed on ioliidist: lihvitud rattakesed, lapikud ovaalid, lihvitud ovaalid ning ümarad 4mm. Ioliit on sellist öösinist tooni, mis kollases lambivalguses muutub peaaegu et halliks. Arvan, et konksude asemel sobiks paremini kõrvarõnga pulk-kinnised, sest kõrvarõngad on päris pikad (6,5cm ilma konksuta). Konksud muudavad kõrvarõngad visuaalselt veelgi pikemaks... Kui kunagi hõbedased pulk-kinnised kusagilt saan, siis vahetan ära.

I've had those tiny Thai Hill Tribe silver wings for almost a year. Suppose they were waiting for their moment. I got the idea to make a dragonfly like this from finnish Helmetti forum. Head of the dragonfly is from the iolite faceted rondelle, tail is from silver beads. All beads are from iolite: faceted rondelles, flat ovals, faceted ovals and 4mm rounds. Iolite is in the color of night blue that in yellow light turns almost grey. I think that post-earrings would be better than hooks, because earrings are quite long (6,5cm). Hooks make them look visually longer... When I get my hands on post-earrings I'll make the change.

Set with red aventurine

Tellimustöö punaste aventuriinide, ahhadi, mageveepärlite ja hõbedaga. Minu puhul on kõige kindlam alustada komplekti tegemisel kaelakee keskkohast ehk siis antud juhul ripatsist. Punased aventuriinid on hoolimata oma nimetusest täielikult oranži värvi esindajad... Kuna olen tellijaga silmast-silma kohtunud, siis pikka aega valmistas raskusi teadmine, et oranž pole tellijale see kõige õigem toon (kui ta just oma juuksed oranžiks ei värvi :P). Nii ma üritasin seda värvi "lahjendada" valge ahhaadi ja mageveepäritega.

Komplekti kuuluvad kaelakee, käekett ning kõrvarõngad. Kaelakee ripatsi tegin nii, et soovi korral oleks see kergesti eemaldatav. Nii et kui värske omanik soovib ripatsit kanda hõbeketi otsas, siis on see võimalik ilma kaelakeed lõhkumata. Kuigi see ripats nõuab pisut toekamat hõbeketti ;) Kõrvarõngad on samas stiilis, nagu kunagi varem tehtud.

Mageveepärleid on neljas toonis (naturaalvalge ehk värvimata, õrnroosakas, oranžikas ja pruunikas). Kasutasin ka Karen Hill Tribe hõbehelmeid, vahehelmeid ning roosikujulist ripatsit. Komplekt on müüdud.

This is a custom work with red aventurine, agate, freshwater pearls and silver. For me the easiest way to start with a set is beginning with the center piece of necklace. In this case I started with the pendant. Although the name of the stone ise red aventurine, it's in color of orange not red... Since I've met the orderer face to face, it was quite hard to even start with the set as I knew that orange was not the best color for her (unless she colors her hair bright orange :P). So I tried to lighten the color with agate and freshwater pearls.

This set includes a necklace, bracelet and a pair of earrings. I made the pendant the way it is possible to easily remove it. So if the new owner would like to wear the pendant with a silver chain she could take it without braking the necklace. Although this pendant needs a bit more heavy chain ;) Earrings are same kind I've made earlier.

There are freshwater pearls in 4 colors (natural, light pinkish, light orange, and brown). I also used Karen Hill Tribe silver beads, spacers and a rose pendant. This set is sold.
