Blue Rhinestone Jewelry with Glass Leaf

Set of necklaces that can be combine as one ever desires. Long necklace gives many options regarding how to wear it - once or twice around the neck, or perhaps wrapped around the wrist as a bracelet? And these necklaces create a perfect ensemble when worn together. Set is on DaWanda.

Jewelry with a Message

These bracelets are inspired by the acrostic jewellery that was most popular in the Victorian times. Jewelry overall was very symbolic that time. Every flower and symbol was linked with some meaning but they also had hidden messages in precious stones. First letter of every stone spelled a word.
I played with glass rhinestones. I have quite a lot of them by now and here I've used Western Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakian glass rhinestones. Every color represents a stone, and first letter of every stone spells the word. Rhinestones and French antique white Prosser beads are on memory wire. These bangle bracelets will go both my Etsy and Dawanda shops.

Well, I guess it's quite weird to see here jewelry that is not in the shade of antique copper :) But this pair of earrings wes a gift for my cousin. Silver-color and bright red were requirements I needed to follow. I rarely give my jewelry as gifts, because it feels strange and it feels like it's not enough. Fortunately I saw with my own eyes that she really liked them, so I'm relieved.

Not impossible

Kaelakee keskosale panin rippuma ühe lopsaka erinevatest kettidest koosneva ripatsi. Lisaks keskmisele vapi kujulisele ehtekivile on siin mõned valget moonstone klaasist, läbipaistmatust helerohelisest ja swarovski green opal ehtekivid.
Kaelakee keskosa maksimumlaius on 5cm.

Photobucket Photobucket

It wasn't impossible :) I was sad I didn't had a setting for that stone. Well, I don't have it now either :) But I managed to customize one setting I already had with my pliers. Imagine the happiness when I discovered this possibility! There is a chain tassel from different chains hanging from the center piece. There are also some white moonstone glass, opaque light green and swarovski green opal rhinestones.
The maximum with of the centerpiece is 5cm.

Sky Blue Flower Necklace

Mul on juba eelmisest aastast pakendist välja võtmata üks hõbeda oksüdeerimise vedelik. Peaks võtma asja kätte...
See kaelakee siin on hõbetatud traadist. Lillekujuline klaaskivi on nn moonstone klaasist. Tilk aga swarovski crystal AB. Tõepoolest, see crystal AB sobib kõikide värvidega!

Photobucket Photobucket

I try to make silver or silverplated jewellery every now and then. For a change I mean. But it's really weird that I absolutely love the copper colour. Perhaps I'd like silver better if I'd oxydize and polish it? I bought this liquid for silver so I could try, it was last year and I haven't even taken it out from the wrapping. Maybe I should give it a try...
This necklace here is from silver plated wire. Flower shaped glass stone is that moonstone glass again. Pear rhinestone is swarovski crystal AB. Really, crystal AB is such a great match to every colour! Again, the centerpiece is actually quite small and it's kind of strange to recognize it from the photos. Well, at least the colors are quite right.

Swarovski Light Smoked Topaz

Imearmsad donut lihvitud helmed on swarovski light colorado topaz.

Photobucket Photobucket
Photobucket

This is like a kind of comeback for Atlantis. Because I searched and bought these rhinestones to make a same necklace with different colors. The color for swarovski stones are light smoked topaz and navettes are sand opal. I searched for the upper round stone for a long time. And when I finally found it (it's a Preciosa cristal, unfoiled smoke topaz), I didn't want to make exactly the samekind of necklace. The finished piece is a bit wider and bigger :) And it seems more modest at first sight because I didn't use any pearls but metal beads and glass seed beads (miyuki seedbeads) both similar colors. Actually at first sight these rhinestones do not seeme to dominate at all. But if there's just a little light movement they all start to sparkle and shine. These cute faceted donut beads are swarovski light colorado topaz.

Turquiose Square

Aimduse suurusest saab viimasest pildist.

Photobucket Photobucket
Photobucket

This is also a glass cabochon here that looks like a stone, like a turquioise :) And a bit of wirewrapping to frame it. This necklace is actually modest and the part with the pendant is little. You can have a hint of it from the last picture. In addition to the glass I put some swarovski beads here (turquioise and pacific opal).

Crystal Star

Erinevaid ehtekive on suures värvivalikus ning see on põnev :) Kogu selles värvimöllus võib vahepeal ununeda lihtsa kristallvärvi ilu. Ja eks see taasavastamine ole ju sama põnev.
Siin on ripatsi keskmes swarovski ovaalse kujuga kivi, helmed on klaasist (osadel AB läige).

Photobucket Photobucket
Photobucket Photobucket

There are so many wonderful colors of different rhinestones out there :) In discovering all those colors it's easy to forget the beauty of simple crystal color. But rediscovering is also interesting.
Here is an oval swarovski rhinestone in crystal color. Beads are from glass (some with AB finish). I had the image of this pendant while I was on a train to Tartu (to the opening of Terje's exhibition). Being so far from my wire and beads there was nothing else to do but to draw it. My hand was a bit unsecure with thiskind of style and I'm afraid I bend the wire more than necessary with the pliers. But I'm happy with the result because even though it has 8 pieces of wire I somehow managed to wrap it with thin wire so securely that when it was done the pendant was as solid as if it was soldered.
Another good thing about the color of crystal is that it doesn't have special request with clothing, that it goes practicly with everything.

Discovering Glass vol 1: Givre

Vot see on üks huvitav ehtekivi - see on iseenesest kristalli värvi ehk läbipaistev klaas, milles on tilk värvilist klaasi!
***
Givré klaas on tavaliselt läbipaistvast klaasist, millesse on pandud värvilist klaasi.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

This is an interesting glass rhinestone - the main color is crystal or transparent glass, but there is a splash of colored glass in it! This one has some silky beige glass, foiled back reflects the light and the colored glass. I managed to find a similar color in brown beads of mother of pearl!
I also have a glass rhinestone wich has a white glass in it, but the foiling has some scratches so I think I might need to take it off somehow. I also found some glass beads that have white opaque glass in it, but the rest is transparent pink glass. Sometimes thiskind of glass is called givre glass. I don't know how it is pronounced or what does this mean, but I found out that givré is a kind of dessert.
***
Givré is usually from transparent glass with colored glass added into it. This colored glass is usually opaque and/or with silky/pearly look. I have one package with blue stones and one package with white stones, that has that name written on it. Both packages are from Western Germany and have round blue rhinestones and round white rhinestones inside. I've seen on the internet that Swarovski has rhinestones and beads, that has word Givré written on the package. I've seen swarovskies only with transparent and one colour combination. Mostly with white (one example from internet: package and rhinestones). It would be interesting to know if they made that kind of glass in Czechoslovakia. If you have info, photos, please let me know. I have a lot of questions about this glass, are those givré rhinestones, that are from transparent glass but with two opaque colors? (like these or these); or rhinestones with transparent glass with transparent color (like these and these - I bought them as Preciosa crystal, but they seem to have too light weight...); or the rhinestones have only two transparent colors?
***
Edit: I found here that givré means frosted or in ice -> that describes perfectly thiskind of glass stones! And you can find a pronouncing there also. PS If you google pictures with word givre you'll find fantastic photos!

Coral red and MOP

I've been avoiding bright red for really long time, always actually :) It seems too agressive and obtrusive. I'm worried about what colors go with it and so on. So I'm starting to make my acquintance with bright red. I begin with a safe color combination of two colors. And natural white, eh, it goes well with everything :) Here are 2mm, 4mm and 7mm beads from mother of pearl. Red beads and domed cabochon is from glass, the smallest beads are 15/0 size seed beads. I really liked the chain tassel I used with this glass pearl necklace so I tried to make something similar. The outcome is more frail and delicate, but since this whole pendant is smaller it should fit better.
Happy Valentine's Day for everybody!!!!

Yellow as...

Klaasist ehtekivid on 1940-1960ndatest.
Kaelakee kaelas.

Yellow as... jonquil. Now, when we can see a bit of sunshine and snow melting around here, it sometimes feels as if the air smells like spring... Joinquil colored glass navette and sabrina style yellow rhinestones with pale yellow faceted glass beads. Rhinestones are from the years 1940-60's. When I pictured this pendant I had a bit different image in my head and when I was on the half way and haven't done any wrapping with thin wire, it also looked that it was going to be a bit different. I guess it's a sign of me being an amateur and although I sometimes scribble things on a piece of paper and try to "plan" the outcome will always be what IT wants to be :) I must say I'm quite pleased with thiskind of "arrangement" because my experience has shown me that the probability to mess things up is considerably smaller that way.

Topaz Triangle

Photobucket Photobucket
Photobucket

It seems I'm continuing with this kind of wire wrapped rhinestones. This triangle shaped pendant came to my mind while my computer was running slow and my thoughts went to my glass stones again. Here are vintage glass navettes that are all in different colors. I was a bit afraid at the start if I'd like the result, but I was sure I didn't want the stones to be in one color. At the tips of the triangle there are swarovski rosaline AB chatones that add a bit of cold freshness to this warm-colored pendant, creating contradictoriness and harmony at the same time. This pendant hangs on a long chain, I'm not sure if I should let it be like this. I like short necklaces more, but maybe it's time for a change.

Back on tracks

Photobucket Photobucket

Glass pearls and a navette from the same material. I love these kind of wire shapes :) Navette and chain tassel with glass pearls are findings from the 1940's. Gorgeous, the chain drapes perfectly and is a bit thick. Although I'm afraid that this chain was ment to be plaited and therefore may cause allergic reaction... All other components are made concerning to the EU standards and are safe. I might look for something to replace the chain or perhaps try to put somekind of protective layer of some varnish or so. Till then I can wear it myself :) This necklace is my favourite at the moment!

Emerald and Moonstone

Igaljuhul on see nüüd valmis. Ehtekivid on ilma tagumise fooliumita.

Photobucket Photobucket

Actually are these rhinestones from glass. The color of the round one is emerald and these cream navettes are from moonstone glass. I've been really busy lately with everything else but beading. And it seams that all the beading ideas that I have doing something else were ment to fade away. I did try to draw some of them in the evenings but I'm afraid that nothing more comes from it. Every day I felt homesick and wanted to be with my rhinestones and wire, but in the evenings I was so tired I couldn't concentrate at all. I found the new issue of Bead&Button at post yesterday but couldn't even look it through. So I read it while I was having a brakfast today :) I got some inspiration and ideas but since there were a lot of them in my head already, I'm a bit confused where to start.
I made this necklace, I don't know when... Either way it's finished now. The rhinestones are unfoiled. It's interesting that the emerald one is still shining even without foiling, perhaps the gold-colored setting has some part in it. Emerald and gold together are quite boastful and when I started with this necklace I was hesitating if it's a piece of jewellery one can wear everyday. But the pendant is quite small and it will not dominate much while
wearing.

Flower Bouquet

Daisy-spacerid koos 2mm kassisilmadega peaks kujutama lilli.
See kee on müüdud.

When I first saw these white-green navettes I absolutely had to have them! This rhinestone is domed at the top and has a gold folio at the bottom. It's from the 1940's! Older than me and waited really long time to become a part of a piece of jewellery (it was put away all this time). The wire wrapped part should imitate the flower bouquet :) Can you see it? Little daisy-spacers with tiny 2mm cat eye beads should be like flowers. I really enjoyed making this necklace :) It seemed easy and it felt like it didn't took any time at all. There are also some crystal glass beads with white surface coating. When I first saw them I didn't like them at all. It seemed really odd to put this kind of unattractive coating on a glass bead. But now I really like them. Especially when the color has worn off from the edges and the bead looks as if it was a tortoise shell :P
This necklace is sold.

Blue Chalcedony Necklace

I just made a necklace, it feels good :) I made it from 925 silver, the cabochon is from chalcedony, beads are from MOP, chalcedony, natural crystal and silver. It is 54,5cm in lenght, the pendant is 3,3cm at the widest point and 5cm long (I measured with the dangles at the bottom). I thought about this necklace for weeks, I often took it out and wondered what I could do with it :) The problem was how to attach the setting to the wirewrapped frame because it didn't have any holes (wasn't sew-on). I had one idea but I didn't know if it would work. And this time I draw a plan can you imagine that! I have always thought that previous planning and drawing is cool and very professional like. It happens really rarely to me, though. But this necklace made me really happy :) Isn't it funny? :)
