Purple Shade

Remember there were some Sapphirine cabochons that looked to have a purple hue? Well I picked these out and will add to this smooth top purple cab in oval shape. Doesn't it look delicious?

These faceted pear shaped stones are vintage Swarovski "Lavendel" color. It will go together with the same antique cut steel beads I have in blue color that I used in the triangle shaped brooch.

Vintage Saphiret Sapphirine Glass Cabochons

One of my best finds! These come in their original package with a color name Sapphirine. Flat backed, unfoiled and with frosted finish. Sappharine glass is a combination of brown with blue. How interesting, the hue of blue is inconsistent in these stones, from aqua to sapphire to almost purple?

So happy to find these for I've searched for Saphiret or Sapphirine glass for jewelry making. I'll probably use silver colored settings for these so the silver color metal will glow through the stone and present the color play of blue and brown!

This caramel colored brooch has vintage Saphirine (new version of Saphiret glass)glass cabochon in the middle, framed with a selection of beads, glass pearls and rhinestones.

Saphiret Brooch with Vintage Glass

In this brooch I used large Saphiret cabochon drops and beautiful glass petals. I'm so happy how it turned out. These vintage glass leaves are tricky! It's difficult to attach them in a way it looks pretty and is sturdy at the same time. And you'll never know what state is the wire until you inspect them closely. These ones here are in very good condition!

I added vintage and new Swarovski crystal rhinestones, vintage seed pearls and glass pearls. It's also a small brooch - I seem to make small ones lately! 

Saphiret cabochon is also vintage and has small chips on tip of the drop and on left bottom prong. Foiling is almost mint and shows off the beauty of this glass.

Foiling lets the light bring out the beauty of the Saphiret glass.
Blue glass petals have delicate pattern and matte surface.

This brooch is small, the metal plate measures 25mm.

Saphiret Drops

I got these vintage Saphiret glass drops from US. These are bigger than the ones I previously used in a brooch. I'm planning to make a brooch with one of these too. The glass flower petals with wire are also vintage and are from Czech. They have baby blue color, delicate pattern and matte surface - just like from a real flower. The wire stems are strong and the petals are ready to use. Can't wait to make these into a brooch!

Ma sain need vintage Saphiret tilgakujulised klaaskivid USAst. Need on suuremad, kui varasemalt näidatud ning mida kasutasin prossis. Ma plaanin prossi teha ka suure tilgaga. Klaasist õielehed on samuti vintage ja on pärit Tšehhist. Neil on imearmas sinine värv, õrn tekstuur ja matistatud pealispind - just nagu pärislilledel. Traadid on tugevad ja valmis kasutamiseks. Ei jõua ära oodata, millal saab neis pross!

Saphiret Rhinestone Brooch

Lot of small brooches, measuring a bit over 3cm. Design is same but colors differ.

When I received these Saphiret glass drops then, well... to say I was happy is understatement no doubt. I was quite out of my mind, actually. Planning these into jewelry needed to wait a bit because emotions didn't let me.

So these brooches are quite small and could be worn together with other brooches. As I understand that wearing many brooches together at the same time is quite popular. You could use these as pendants also, because I added a ring that allows these brooches be hang on a ribbon or chain.

(Light Smoked Topaz, Ceilon Topaz, Pacific Opal, Blue Opal), Czech glass pearls

Lot of three brooches in colors of Saphiret, Turmaline Green and Sapphire-Ruby

Väikesed prossid, mõõtudelt ainult pisut üle 3cm. Disain on sama, värvilahendused erinevad.

Kui sain need Saphiret klaasist tilgad, siis, noh... märkida, et olin rõõmus, on kolossaalselt pehmelt öeldud. Ma olin ikka päris arust ära, rõõmust. Plaane hakkasin mõne aja pärast tegema, sest emotsioonid lihtsalt ei lasknud.

Nii et, need prossid ise on suht väikesed, neid saaks kanda koos teiste prossidega. Olen aru saanud, et mitu prossi korraga kanda on mujal maailmas populaarne. Iseenesest saaks neid prosse kanda kaelas kui ripatseid, sest lisasin neile rõnga, millega saab neid lindi või keti otsa riputada.

Work in Progress

So I'm planning to use these Saphiret glass tear drops in a piece of jewellery. Although I think this glass goes better with golden or silvery metal I am planning to use these drops with my traditional coppery components. Since I recently "mixed colors" with crystal glass rhinestones I'll decided to do the same here.

I went through my rhinestone stash and made my choice. All rhinestones are made by Swarovski in different times, somewhere between the 1950-2000 year. As you can see the packages are also different since the company changes these in every once in a while. Colors are: Smoked Topaz Light, Ceylon Topaz, Pacific Opal and rare Blue Opal.

Nii, et need Saphiret klaasist tilgad on plaanis kasutada ühes ehtes. Hoolimata sellest, et mulle tundub see klaas sobivat rohkem hõbeda või kuldse metalliga, plaanin kasutada neid oma traditsiooniliste vasksete metall-komponentidega. Kuna ma just hiljuti "segasin värve" kasutades kristallklaasist ehtekivisid, siis proovin seda teha ka siin.

Käisin läbi oma ehtekivide varud nii ja naapidi ning tegin valiku. Kõik on Swarovski ehtekivid, kuid vanus on neil väga erinev, jäädes aastate 1950-2000 vahele. Nagu näha, siis on ka kivide pakendid väga erinevad. Värvidest valisin välja: Smoked Topaz Light, Ceylon Topaz, Pacific Opal ja haruldane Blue Opal.
