Dark Red Pendant on Ribbon

Today we'll look more closely at one of the special pieces from mdmButiik shop. It's not very common to add ribbons in jewelry for me... This one is a pendant that comes with a ribbon but can be separated and worn with a chain or attach with a pin on a piece of clothing. This dark red pendant on ribbon has two parts both covered in sparkly rhinestones! 

I'm thinking it can be attached to a hairdo as well with a hair pin - imagine it sparkle! Dark red pendant can be worn around the neck like a collar to get that historical look but also on a long chain as well. This pendant has a contemporary ribbon in length that allows to wear it around the neck. We used vintage and new glass and crystal rhinestones in garnet red color.  Glass beads are vintage from Czechoslovakia!

Deep Dark Red

I haven't shared here the deep color components: beads, rhinestones and cabochons. I made jewelry with these that were inspired by antique Bohemian garnet jewelry. The materials here are not garnet but glass and crystal glass, new and vintage.

Old "English cut" glass beads from Czechoslovakia, Austrian and Czech crystal glass rhinestones... Inspiring isn't it? Photographing these is quite tricky, and the real color is a bit darker than on photos.

Antique Glass Jewelry Boxes

I love these antique glass boxes! Been collecting them for years and always keeping my eyes on new finds. Thick beveled glass panels, gilded metal frames with textured patterns, tufted silk lining with cute buttons, and those tiny feet...

You may recognize some jewelry from mdmButiik from previous collection. Saphiret and rhinestone brooch in the center surrounded by three small Saphiret brooches on sides, Saphiret and jet black cuff bracelet in front of it. Saphiret earrings and Mint and grey pearl bracelet, triangle shaped Saphiret brooch and Grey pearl earrings in front row. 

Purple and Green Necklace with Saphiret Clasp and Three Rows

Lovely pastel colored necklace has ornate clasp and three rows of beads. One of a kind! Pastel color necklace combining purple and green shades in three rows of beads and an ornate hidden clasp. The clasp (box clasp) has rare Saphiret rhinestones in a beaded motif. Three rows of beads have a wide selection of old and new glass beads in asymmetrical arrangement. This purple and green necklace with Saphiret clasp is a one of a kind necklace, if it's sold cannot be reproduced.

You can wear the clasp traditionally at the back of the neck, or slide it on one side for asymmetrical look!

Emerald Green

Is it time to remember the winter? How the sparkle of green rhinestones were bringing the freshness of coming seasons? Sweet promise.

Inspired by the vintage and new jewelry components... Here we have vintage pressed jade glass stone, uranium glass leaf shaped button, vintage Austrian Swar. kite shaped crystals and other new and old glass rhinestones.

Vintage Jewellery Materials

 Take a look at these! Vintage Saphiret faceted glass stones with old micro glass seed beads, steel beads and pressed opal glass with silver lining. Vintage  machine cut pear shaped stones from Czechoslovakia.

On the last photo you see the frosted Sapphirine cabochons. These tiny round flatbacks are new Swarovski Cappuccino DeLight.

Vintage Saphiret Sapphirine Glass Cabochons

One of my best finds! These come in their original package with a color name Sapphirine. Flat backed, unfoiled and with frosted finish. Sappharine glass is a combination of brown with blue. How interesting, the hue of blue is inconsistent in these stones, from aqua to sapphire to almost purple?

So happy to find these for I've searched for Saphiret or Sapphirine glass for jewelry making. I'll probably use silver colored settings for these so the silver color metal will glow through the stone and present the color play of blue and brown!

Vintage Style Rhinestone Jewellery

Sometimes I just like to appreciate the sparkle that rhinestones bring! And the inspiration! Specially vintage rhinestones. There's something about the old packages and envelopes that shield the crystal glass... All the cuts and colors, many that are not made anymore.

From top to bottom. A big lot of satin glass beads in tube shape. They glow and reflect the light in silky way! Czech made octagon crystal glass rhinestones, so sparkly! Original antique hanks of French metal microbeads in shiny brass. And last but not least, a vintage lot of flat backed glass stones in rose cut faceting 💖

Saphiret and Sappharine Glass Rhinestones

 I've been collecting loose Saphiret and Sappharine glass for many years. There's something so special about the color shifting art glass.

Vintage Style Choker Necklace Historical Jewelry

Lets take a moment to enjoy these adorable rhinestone settings! I mean, just look at them...

Each rhinestone in this Vintage style choker necklace is set into most beautiful setting of filigree. So intense with delicate details! Made of Preciosa crystals (from 8mm to 14mm in diameter) in rivoli-type faceting. This necklace is perfect for your wedding, theater and fancy dinners. Vintage Style Tiara with Topaz Yellow

This vintage style tiara with topaz yellow is historically inspired and is a great addition to both wedding and historical reenactment.

This tiara features a center motif with round old Swarovski "Topaz" rhinestone that is accompanied with two double leaf plates, followed with pearls and motifs with marquise stone. Single row of small vintage seed pearls runs on the base wire of this tiara. Visit shop page to see more.

Marie Antoinette Pink Earrings in Vintage Style

I absolutely love those antique jewelry boxes with thick beveled glass panels and stuffed lining. I also love the way the facets of those glass panels reflect and play with the jewelry inside. Here are Marie Antoinette Pink earrings in vintage style.

Sweet pink and blue is combined in these earrings, inspired of the wardrobe worn by Marie Antoinette on paintings and actresses in various movies.

Emerald Duchess Necklace

This is Emerald Duchess Necklace. It is made of eleven motifs that have either octagon or pointed hexagon glass stone. Each stone is surrounded by clear sparkly rhinestones and seven motifs have handmade glass bead in baroque shape.

I started with this in 2017 spring, but got stuck and couldn't finish it for a long time. I had made several motifs with those octagon stones in the middle, I had picked out the suitable beads that were handmade in Japan in the 1950's. But felt like it was lacking something. Until I got those pointed hexagons 😁

Color Inspiration: Caramel and the Fields of Gold

First this color brought caramel into my mind. The rich taste, you can choose if it's sweet or salty. But when I started to think of the season, then I realized that Autumn is the time of golden fields. Fields that move in the wind like waves in the sea. The color of leaves falling from the trees turn into beige also, reminding us the importance of letting things go when the time is right...

Beige is the color of neutral, calm, relaxing... It has the calculated maturity, acceptance that times will change. I realized that the most glass pearls that I have, are in the shade of caramel...

Selection of beige beads is limited in my bead stash. But I managed to find some round Czech glass beads and a mix. Fortunately I also purchased some vintage rice shaped glass beads from France.

Vintage oval glass stone has a rare color combination. While givre rhinestones are usually transparent glass with pink, blue or white, this one here has the sweetest color of caramel. The silky glass reflects from the folio of the glass stone. Vintage Swarovski navette in Light Smoked Topaz brings the contrast of light and dark, while new Swarovski color Sand Opal has modest glow that doesn't show itself on the first view.

Vintage and Rare Beads

Sourcing vintage beads is difficult and gathering enough to make a piece of jewellery takes time. But hey, look at those details!

Antique Pocket Watch Box with Glass Lid

Here's that antique box I showed in last post about rhinestone brooch. I always keep searching antique boxes. I know that I already have a bunch but... Just look at it! Isn't it cute?! It has a lid with beveled glass and nice luxurious red silk lining. Gorgeous woman face embossed with pretty scrolls and adornments.
