Hair accessories for the New Years Eve

Otsustasin teha endale ühe juuksekaunistuse tulevaks aastavahetuseks. Silme ees olid 1940ndad :) Tegin kokku neli juukseklambrit, aga sellist nagu alguses kujutasin, ma teha ei suutnudki. Eks teine kord. Kaks klambrit (punane ja sinine) on sulepaelaga ning need jäävad hoidma natukene püsti :D Veel on seal tülli ja musta pitsi. Ja loomulikult swarovskid :) ei saa kohe ilma nendeta. Punasel on 6mm suurune vintage rose värvi kivi ja sinisel 6mm erinite. Oliivrohelise rosetiga juukseklambril on keskel tikitud musta tülli peale khaki värvi swarovski kive (sileda tagusega) ja musti lihvitud 3mm klaashelmeid. Kõige väiksem ja tagasihoidlikum klamber on üleni must. Seal on musta pitsi, tülli, lihvitud klaashelmeid ning musti swarovski kive (sileda tagusega). Rohkem pilte leiad siit.

I decided to make myself a pretty hair clip for the coming New Years Eve. I was thinking of the 1940s :) I made four clips but I couln't achieve the one I had in mind. Well, some other time then. Two clips are made with feather string (?) and they stand up as real feathers :D There are also some tulle and black lace. And ofcourse swarovskies :) can't do without them. The red one has a 6mm vintage rose chaton and blue one has a 6mm erinite chaton. The clip with olive green rosette has some embroidered 3mm faceted glass beads and 4mm khaki colored flat back sew-ons. The smallest and the most modest one is all in black color. There are black tulle, lace, glass beads and swarovski flat back sew-ons. You find more pictures from here.

Brooches

Mõned prossid, mida olen unustanud näidata. Kunagi tahtsin swarovskite (chaton roses) ja traadiga põimida kokku palli. Tulemus oli robustne umbes 1,5cm lopergune asjandus. Ma tükk aega ei osanud seda kusagile panna. Kui ühel päeval olin prosside õmblemise lainel, siis sobitasin selle kuldse siidikanga, hõbefooliumiga oliivikarva helme ja lindiga kokku. Vot sinna ta sobis. Kuna ma olin oma erinevad kangavarud juba karpidest välja kiskunud, siis jätkasin samal lainel. Tegin selle punase prossi. Tegelikkuses pole nende punaste toonide vahe nii suur nagu pildil. Ja kolmas pross tuli ka kohe järgi. Siin ma tahtsin proovida varem ostetud tikkimiseks mõeldud linti, mille ostsin Bricolartist. Ilus, käsitsi värvitud ja maheda värviüleminekuga Victoria Claytoni lint sai omale roosi kuju. Veel on seal organsat, pitsi, klaaspärleid ning swarovskeid. Kõige viimane pross on hiljutine. Joonistasin puunööbile pitsilise mustri ning lakkisin küünelakiga. Selle prossi diameeter on 2,5cm.

Here are some brooches I've forgotten to show you. Once I wanted to make a ball out of swarovskies (chaton rose) and wire. The outcome was 1,5cm, a bit formless thing that I couldn't find any use for. And one day I was in a mood of sewing brooches. I added some golden silk, silverfoiled olive glass bead and ribbon, and a brooch was born. Since I had already torn out all of my fabrics I decided to continue making brooches. Then I made a red brooch with a ladybug glass bead. The difference between the two reds in that second brooch is not so big actually like the photo states. The third brooch was next. I wanted to try out my new embroidery silk I got from Bricolart. Beautiful, hand dyed and with a smooth color blending Victoria Claytons ribbon turned out to be a small rose. I added some organza, lace, glass pearls and swarovskies. I finished the last brooch recently. I draw a pattern on a wooden button and cover it with a nail polish. The diameter of the last brooch is 2,5cm.

Flowers

Kaelakee keskpunktiks on lilledega cabochon, mille ostsin siit. Lai lint on juba kaua oodanud oma järjekorda, nüüd lõpuks sai väärilise koosluse :) Usun, et paela värv sai piltidele päris õige. Nende paelaotsikutega oli tükk tegemist, aga ega mul nii laiadega varasemat kogemust polegi. Materjalideks veel klaashelmed ja klaaspärlid ning pressitud metallist plaadike. Plaadikese kaunistused on kinnitatud traadiga.

The center of the necklace is a cabochon with flowers that I got from here. This ribbon waited long to become a part of a jewellery :) Seems I got the right shade of the ribbon color while taking photos. Using ribbon ends wasn't easy but then again I've never used that kind of before. There are glass beads and glass pearls and stamped filligree plate. I attached the decorations to the plate by wire.

Dark Blue Velvet

Paistab, et paremaid pilte sellest ei õnnestu minul saada. See on minu Värvispektri sinine juuli. Mul on juba üle kuue aasta kestnud õmblusmasina "allergia" pärast aastast õpingut Kergetööstustehnikumis. Ma kogu aeg mõtlen, et peaks üritama midagi sellega ette võtta, sest üks mu nõrkustest on just seotud õmblemisega -> kangad, pitsid, paelad, nööbid jne :) Aga kõik see lõigete konstrueerimine, juurdelõikus ning masinaga vuristamine on judinaid tekitav... Esialgu mõtlesin, et aitaks kui leian mõne vahva ja lihtsa projekti, mida masinal teha, kuid seda olen otsima jäänudki. Nii ma olengi õmmelnud pigem käsitsi.
Selle sinise sameti leidsin kaltsukast, tihtilugu takerduvad näpud mingisugustesse eriti jõledatesse "moeröögatustesse", mis on aga valmistatud ideaalsest kangast! See oli pluus. Pikkade varukatega, kurguni nööbitav pluus, oeh... Mingit mõõtmist või planeerimist ma ei teinud, lõin aga käärid sisse ja niidistasin masina. Ei teinud isegi prooviõmblust :D vaid lihtsalt õmblesin ristkülikukujulise samettüki otstesse nöörvoldid. Ja ikka nii viltu ja sinkavonka kui vähegi võimalik... Otsustasin, et sellest saab mõnusa õmblemise töö, kus ma ei mõtle kõikide nende asjade peale, mis mul koolis õpetati ning mis mind siiani on kammitsenud. Koti vooder on samamoodi silmajärgi lõigatud ning (mis siin salata) pisut väike ja ühte nurka kaldus (et koti asetatud asjad kõik sinna kogunevad...). Koti sangad punusin kolmest nöörist, koti suu kantisin laia atlasspaelaga ning kaunistasin musta tülli, laia ja kitsa pitsi, seemnehelmeste ning sinise lindiga. Nöörvoltide vahele siia-sinna panin ka üksikuid seemnehelmeid (pildil paistavad nagu tolmukübemed). See roos on kangast ja ka kunagi kaltsukast leitud küünlakaunistusest.
Õmblusmasina "allergiast" veel vabanenud pole, aga ehk on mul veel lootust.

It seems I can't get any better pictures than those. This is my blue July from color spectrum. I have this sewing machine "allergy" for six years now since I spent one year studying clothing design. I think alot of trying to do something about it because I really have a soft spot about different fabrics, laces, ribbons and buttons :) But all that thing about creating patterns, cutting out fabrics and working with sewing machine is still creepy... First I thought if I could only find a great and easy project but I haven't found it yet. So I've mainly sewed by hand.
I found this blue velvet from second-hand, quite often my fingers tangle in some sort of hideous "fashion" that is construct from a superb fabric! This one was a blouse. With long sleeves and buttons up to throat, oh well... I did no planning or measuring just cut it into pieces. I didn't make a swatch :D and started sewing from one end of a rectangle shaped piece of cloth. I decided this will be something fun and not think about all the stuff I was taught in school and that has somehow interfered every idea I had of sewing. The lining is also cut without any measuring at all and (no need to deny) came a bit too tight and tilted to one corner (so everything in bag will roll into one corner...). I braided the handles from three cords. I embellished the bag with different laces and ribbons, tulle, black seedbeads. This rose is from fabric and also found from second-hand (it was a part of a candle decoration).
I still haven't got rid of the sewingmachine "allergy" but I guess I still got hope.

Aurora Borealis and Blue

Tegin tutvust swarovski kivitüübiga, millel nimi elongated oval. Antud variant on 21x7mm suur. Värvus on crystal ja viimistlus aurora borealis (AB). Ripats on nii siniste lintide kui ka keti küljes. Seda sellepärast, et lintide otsikud tekitasid minus kahtlust, kas peavad vastu või mitte. Ja siis, ja siis (!) ma kasutasin liimi!!! Jah, mina kasutasin liimi, ja ma ei mäkerdanudki kõike kokku :D (ainult hästi natukene...). Ja igaksjuhuks panin keti ka, mis lintidest pisut lühem ja seetõttu võtab kogu raskuse enda peale. Tegin ka tagasihoidliku käeketi siia juurde.

I made my acquaintance with swarovski stone named elongated oval. This on is in size 21x7mm. The color is crystal and surface is coated with aurora borealis (AB). Pendant is attached to blue ribbon and also to chain. It is because I suspected the ribbon ends not to be strong enough. And then, and then (!) I used glue!!! Yes, I put glue on the ribbon ends and I didn't mess it up :D (only a bit...). And still, just in case, I added a chain that was a bit shorter than the ribbons and so all the weight goes on the chain. I also made a modest bracelet to go with the necklace.

Lazy Days -> image heavy post

Olen pildistamiste ja blogimisega natuke jänni jäänud. Lükkan kõik viimased esitamata tööd ühte postitusse :)
*Roosa Kee* mulle meeldivad nn kassisilmade läige (fiiberklaas?). Aga tihtilugu on helmeste värvid kas kulunud tooni või on eriti tugevad ja noh, kuidas öelda... mitte minu maitse. Vbl on tegu ka eelarvamusega, igal juhul tahan hakata rohkem tähelepanu pöörama sellele helmesordile. Roosal keel on navette-tüüpi kivike ning 4mm lihvitud ümarad kassisilmad, mõned swarovskid ja MC helmed ka. Olen väga rahul tulemusega :)
*Must Kee* no kui navette-tüüpi kivi sobib, järsku sobib tilgakujuline ka... Olen ammu juba tahtnud teha üleni musta ehet kivikestega ning vaskset tooni komponentidega. Alguses tahtsin teha nööpkõrvarõngaid, kuid hetkel ei suuda kahte samasugust asja teha.
*Käekee "Even the Odds"* see on nüüd eilse päeva produkt. Päris samasugune ei tulnud kui ajakirjas, kuid no mitte ei meeldinud sealne kinnitus. Kusjuures see on vist esimene paarituarvuline peyote, mis olen teinud. Muidu olen harjumusest teinud paarisarvulise ja siis hiljem ühe rea külge pookinud. Aga täitsa mõnus tehnika.
*Salli Nõel* vot see nimi sobib sellele paremini kui pross või prees vms. Haamerdatud jämedast vasktraadist. Idee sain siit.
*Õmmeldud prossid* tegelikult tegin tolle tehispärli ja pärlikübaratega ripatsi ning tahtsin, et see asetseks vaatajale sedasi otse (muidu kõrvarõnga või kaelakee otsas jääks see allapoole rippu). Õmblesin kreemika kanga kortsulisena vildile, siis lisasin lehe (oli kunagi küünlakaunistuses), pisut pitsi ja linti ka. Esimesega olen rahul, teisega... vot ei oska seisukohta võtta...

I've been lazy photographing and presenting my new work. So I'll put them all in a single post :)
*Pink Necklace* I really like the reflection of those cat eyes (fiberglas?). But often I find the colors to be too pale or too strong and hmmm, how to put it... just not my taste. Perhaps this is just preconceived, but I think I'll try to draw my attention to them more often. This pink necklace has a cat eye navette stone and 4mm faceted beads, some svarowskies and MC beads too. I'm very pleased with the outcome :)
*Black Necklace* If navette stone fits, whynot to try pearshaped stone too... I've thought a long time about making a piece of jewellery in all black stones with coppertone components. First I wanted to make a button earrings, but I'm not able to make a pair of identical things at this time.
*Bracelet "Even the Odds"* is an outcome of yesterdays get together. Not identical with the one from the magazine but I really didn't like the clasp there. Actually it is the first odd-count peyote I've made. Untill yesterday I made an even-count and added and extra row. It's a nice technique.
*Shawl Pin* is better name than a brooch for this one. It's hammered from thick copper wire. I've got the idea from here.
*Sewed brooches* I first made the dangle from fake pearl and bead caps and wanted it to stay facing front (if I'd attached it to a necklace or a pair of earrings it would face down). I sewed a cream-colored cloth crinkled on a felt and added a leave (from a candle decoration), lace and ribbon. I'm happy with the first one, but not so sure about the second one though...

Few Customs

Mõned tellimustööd, mille kallal viimasel ajal nokitsenud. See on täitsa müstiline, kuidas mõnikord näkkab nende inimestega. Ma mõtlen, et tegelikult olen jube jama tegelane, kui asi läheb tellimiseks. Tihtilugu olen ära ütelnud, kui kiired ajad, või kui tervis kehv (ma ei suuda helmestega tegeleda, kui mul on halb olla) või pole õigel lainel. Kahju on küll, aga mis teha, kui tean, et sel hetkel asjast asja ei saa. Mõnikord aga veab - tellijad ilmuvad siis, kui mul on aega ja tahtmist väljakutsetele vastu astuda. Sest iga tellimustöö on paras väljakutse :) Tihtilugu soovitakse midagi, mida varem teinud ei ole ja kuidas sa muidu poed teise inimese pähe, et aru saada, mida too ette kujutab? Need siin on tööd, kus mul oli mingi hägune ettekujutus, mis enamvähem läks kokku tellija omaga, või siis oli tellija väga usaldav ja sellega võttis pinge maha. Üks tellimustöö oli selline, et kuni lõpuni ei saanud aru, mida tellija tahtis. Aga sellest räägin tulevikus.

Siin on juukseklamber hõbetatud vasktraadist ja helmestest. Telliti selle kaelakee juurde. Teine on pross meesterahvale, must atlass, samet ning tüll, sekka swarovskeid, helmeid ja kette. Kolmas on hõbekõrvarõngad kullatud helmestega ning lisaks veel krüsokollat ja aventuriini. Ma vist polegi varem hõbedat ja kulda seganud.

Here are some custom works I've made recently. It's quite weird how sometimes things like that can be arranged. I mean, I can be really frustrating when it comes to custom work. I've said no so many times due to lack of time or because I was feeling ill (I can't make jewellery when I don't feel good) or when I can't concentrate. It doesn't feel great to turn people down but there's no point when I see it wouldn't work. But sometimes things go well and people with special wishes come when I've got time and will to work with challenges. Every custom work is a challenge :) Because very often people want something I haven't done before and how in the world can I get a sight on what image is in another persons head? These are custom works that I had a (vague) idea that was acceptable to the orderer. There was one order that I wasn't sure of and I'm still not sure what did the orderer really wanted. But I'll tell you more about that in the future.

Here you can see a hair clip with silverplated copper wire and beads. It should be able to be matched with this necklace. Second one is a brooch for a guy, black fabric (velvet, tulle), some swarovskies, beads and chains. Third one is a pair of silver earrings with goldplated metal beads and chrysocolla and aventurine beads. I think it's the first time I mixed silver with gold.

More Brooches

Veel prossidest. Esimene pross oli kuidagi liiga korralik... Tahtsin rohkem pusasid ja asju :D Siin on kolm prossi. Ikka nii, et keskel on isetehtud nööbike swarovski kividest ning klaashelmestest ning selle taustaks erinevad tekstiilid.

Esimene pross on ka vbl korralik - on olemas mingi sümmeetria. Tegelikult olin selle kivikestega nööbikese juba varem valmis teinud (enne kui prossidega alustasin), ning üritasin selle jaoks teha vastavat tausta tekstiilist. Nii läks sinna lillat ja musta pitsi, musta tülli, lillat linti ja organsat ning pisut rohelist siidi. Teine pross on just selline nagu tahtsin - mitte mingit piinlikku täpsuse taga ajamist ega kindlaid korrapäraseid sättimisi. Pruunid hõbesisuga seemnehelmed mängivad hästi kokku nööbi vasksete komponentide ja siidi pruunikate värvilaikudega. Viimasel real on üks roosakas pross kahel erineval taustal. Seal on pitsi, lillekirju kangast ning organsa linti. Ja-jaa, siin on roosad swarovski kivid, mis tähendab, et olen "tahtmatult" ikkagi neid juurde ostnud...

Üritan teha prossid võimalikult väikesed, et ikka reväärile vms ära mahuks. Need prossid on kõige laiemast kohast umbes 4cm. Lilla pross on müüdud.

I think the first brooch (Cherry Blossom) was too neat... I think I wanted more messy look and stuff :D As before I made little buttons with swarovski stones and glass beads and then sew a background with different textiles. Here you can see three brooches.

Well, perhaps the first one is still neat - you can see the symmetry. I have made the button before I even started with brooches and tried to make a background with all the colors. So there are black and violet lace, black tulle, violet ribbon and organza and also a little green silk. Second brooch is exactly as I wanted it to be - no fastidious neatness or anything like that. Brown silverlined seedbeads play well together with copper components in the button and with brown spots in silk. On the second row there is one brooch on different background. You can find lace, flowerpatterned cloth and organza. And yes, those are pink swarovski stones, and that means I couldn't resist and bought some more stones... Violet brooch is sold.


I try to make small brooches so they will fit on a collar or on a neckline. Those brooches are 4cm at the largest end.

Cherry Blossom Brooch

Kirsid õitsevad praegu... Lihtsalt hingematvalt ilus aeg on see, kui kõikjal on õisi. Minu aias kasvavad küll valgete õitega kirsid, aga noh, mõtlesin, et teen kahvatu roosa rinnaehte. Kas seda võib nimetada prossiks? Mis iganes ta ka on, on see kokku õmmeldud. Kõige alguses ovaalse kujuga pressitud käsitöövilt, millele õmblesin tülli, pitsi, linte ning pärast nööbikujulise kivikestega detaili (mille tegin varem valmis) kinnitamist tikkisin veel helmeid juurde. Ja muidugi õmblesin taha ka kinnitusnõela.

Tegelikult on tegemist järjekordse võimalusega neid swarovski kivikesi kasutada :) Hakkan juba teid nendega tüütama? :D Kuid mina arvan, et pean VEEL leidma võimalusi! Inspiratsiooniallikaid oli mitu, nimekirja leiad postituse lõpust (aja jooksul lisandub sinna veel mõni). See pross on müüdud.

Cherry trees are in bloom now... It's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful when there're blossoms everywhere. In my garden cherry trees have white blossoms, but well, I decided to make something in pale pink. Do you call this a brooch or is there some word that suits better? Whatever it is, I sewed it. I started with felt cloth and sewed some tulle, lace, ribbon and then added the detail with the stones (that I've made previously) and then some more beads to frame it. I also sewed an attaching needle behind. This brooch is sold.

Actually it's just another way to use those swarovski stones I bought way back :) Do I annoy you with those already? :D But I think I need to figure out some MORE ideas! I found inspiration from many places:

Girly Bangle with Pink Lace and Swarovskis

Mul oli varem hangitud swarovski kivikestega kett, teate küll, selline, kus pesad kivikestega on omavahel ühendatud. Sellised ketid on küll väga ilusad, kuid mina olen oma kogemusena leidnud, et nende ehetesse paigutamisega tuleb kõvasti pead murda. Idee kivikestega ketti kasutada koos lindiga sain ma Evita Peroni Kevad-Suve 2008 vihikust, mille sain Tallinna Kaubamaja ilumaailmast (sisenedes Evita Peroni leheküljele, on seesama komplekt kohe esimesel pildil, mida näed!). Milline rõõmus äratundmine mind valdas :)

Kõigepealt lõikasin kaks paraja pikkusega eelpainutatud traadijuppi, valisin lindi ning hakkasin kerima :P Kasutasin kahte eelpainutatud traati, kuna see kivikestega kett oli lai. Käevõru otste lõpetamine oli pisut probleemne, kuna eelpainutatud traat on vastikult rabe... Aga kuidagi õnnestus mul otsad viimistleda mässides seda sama linti ja traati.

I've bought some swarovski chaton chain, you know the kind where stones are in montees and those are attached to each other. That kind of chains are very beautiful, but I get in difficulties when I want to use them in my jewellery. I got this idea from a booklet of Evita Peronis Spring-Summer 2008 (when you enter Evita Peronis site the first picture should be about that set!). I was really happy to see that same chain used in a set with dark blue lace :)
First I cut two pieces of memory wire, took some lace and started wrapping around the chain with stones and memory wire :P I used two pieces of memory wire because the chain with stones was quite wide. Ending that bangle was troublesome, because that memory wire was so brickle... But I managed ending with wrapping the lace and wire.

In Bloom

Õitsemine. Õrn kaelakee, mille täna valmis nokkisin. Tegin oma lillekujulistest helmestest segu ja tahtsin kõike sorte kasutada, aga välja tuli hoopis nii, et sinised ja rohekad toonid ning ca 2cm läbimõõduga lilled jäid kasutamata. Keti küljes on tilgad, odaots ja kokkuvajutatud kalotid, kes teesklevad, et nad on tillukesed kuljused vms :P

Huh, aeg on hakata mõtlema blogi märtsikuu värvile. Aeg lippab ikka kohutavalt kiiresti :)

Delicate necklace that I finished today. I made a mix out of my flower shaped beads and wanted to put them all in this piece. But it turned out that blues and green tones with big flowers with ca 2cm diameter didn't fit here. There are drops and a dagger on the dangling chain with crimped tiny bead tips that are pretending they're bells or something like that :P

Well, it's time to start thinking about my blogs color for March... Time goes so fast :)

Halfway there!

Peaaegu valmis! Lõpetasin tolle tikitud lapikese ära. Lisaks helmestele ja litritele tegin paar tillukest roosikest 3mm lindiga. Voodriks õmblesin laia tumepunase lindi. Nüüd pilte vaadates on väga raske litreid märgata... eks see osaliselt oli ka eesmärk, et litter ei paistaks tervenisti välja vaid oleks pooleldi pitsi, organsa või lindi varjus (kasutades kujutlusvõimet on neid võimalik näha näiteks esimese rea teisel ning viimase rea esimesel fotol). Üldmulje magus nagu roosa-mannavaht :P Nüüd polegi muud, kui teha sellest kantav ehe ja kõik ongi valmis!

I finished the embroidered piece I started yesterday. Addition to beads and sequins I made some tiny roses with 3mm wide ribbon. I used wide dark red ribbon as lining. Now looking at the photos it's quite difficult to spot the sequins I sewed... guess it was my goal to put sequins the way that they're partly covered with lace, organza or ribbons (if you use your imagination you can see them on the second photo on the first row and forst photo on the last row). It looks so sweet it'll give you cavities :P Now all I need to do is to make it into a piece of jewellery and its finished!
